Indeed, it has.
I haven’t updated the site with a new blog post in several months, and you have my apologies for the sudden lack of communication with you all.
But, I wanted to take the time now to check in and give my good friends across the world wide web a bit of an update on what’s been going on, and what’s to come, for Day 1.
The past few months have been a bit crazy over here in my neck of the woods.
For starters, I’ve had to attend to several ‘heavy’ personal matters. It never ceases to amaze me how much the mental, spiritual physical and emotional sides of our lives can effect each other. Nothing operates in a vacuum. It can all feel like on big symphony of chaos a times.
Needless to say, for a while there I had found myself drained on many levels. In some ways I suppose you could say that a certain fire inside of me had dwindled down to a mere whisper of a flame.
BUT… that flame was not out. The weight-of-the-world, so to speak, had served to lay down an unsuccessful attempt at suffocation. However, the flame just needed a bit of time to itself to breath, expand, reflect and heat back up. Having a solid support system and group of people to toss the occasional bit of kindle, tinder and fuel on to that fire proved invaluable towards expediting the process – self sufficiency and a support network go hand in hand.
My area also got pummeled by Hurricane Sandy. I didn’t lose my home as did some in my area, but we were hit pretty hard and it caused a huge shake up in the order of our daily lives. I certainly count my blessings for what remained, but the event put a lot of things in perspective.
Still, there’s no choice but to come out of it stronger, forging ahead with new-found perspective and drive. We’ve been going strong here locally all the while, and you can expect Day 1′s online game to kick back up, bigger than ever.
So, get ready for a bunch of brand new online courses, stand alone programs, cool blog posts, and even a coaching and movement exploration group, coming your way for the new year, all geared towards giving you tools for self care, improving your performance, managing your stress and inspiring your creativity and self-expression.
For my friends in the states, have a happy Thanksgiving, and enjoy the time with your family – appreciate it no matter what it is or how it is. For my friends outside of the states, Thanksgiving or not, slow down for a moment this week and reflect back on what’s good in your lives, and on meditate on what REALLY matters at the end of the day.
Stay tuned for more updates and lighter-hearted fare. I promise
